Arthroscopic Double Row Subscapularis Repair Using an Interlocking Double Pulley Technique.

Abstract

Subscapularis tears are a common source of pain and shoulder dysfunction. Tears of the subscapularis are seen in isolation or in conjunction with other rotator cuff tears, and should be repaired due to its essential function in shoulder mechanics. In order to obtain good function postoperatively, it is necessary to understand subscapularis anatomy, pathology and reconstruction techniques. Improved outcomes occur when the reconstruction ensures compression of the subscapularis tendon more fully to the involved footprint. We describe a technique for an arthroscopic subscapularis double row repair using an interlocking double pulley to provide broad compression of the subscapularis across its anatomical footprint.
