Abstract
Diabetes mellitus (DM) is one of the most prevalent diseases worldwide. Given the rising global prevalence of DM, early detection of complications is critical. The triglyceride-glucose (TyG) index and its derived indicators have emerged as promising biomarkers for insulin resistance and metabolic disorders. This review summarizes current evidence on their clinical utility in screening, risk stratification, and prognostic assessment of DM and its complications, highlighting their potential for early intervention and management.
