Abstract
Velopharyngeal insufficiency as a result of a high vagal injury, trauma, or oncologic resection can result in an overall diminished quality of life. Current management techniques for this condition are lacking in durability and personalization to tailor the solution to each patient's needs. Here, we describe a novel modified vertical pharyngeal flap to address this challenging problem.
