Abstract
Developmental hip dysplasia due to insufficient acetabular coverage and excessive pressure on the femoral head can easily lead to labral tears, damage to the labrum-cartilage junction, cam and pincer deformities, and joint capsule laxity. This may ultimately result in osteoarthritis. Here, we describe a technique that involves bone grafting with autologous bone harvested from the anterior superior iliac spine combined with labral repair, cam and pincer osteoplasty (bone resection), autologous collagen-induced chondrogenesis, and joint capsule suture in a "five-in-one" procedure to treat developmental hip dysplasia.
