Abstract
The sub-hyoid approach is a novel open surgical technique for selected deeply infiltrative base of tongue tumors, providing direct access and allowing full-thickness resection while preserving the tongue neurovascular structures. Thyro-hyoido-pexy restores hyo-laryngeal suspension without flap reconstruction, with the aim of preserving swallowing function.
