A scoping review protocol on digital health equity among immigrant populations: Planning and managing effective digital health services.

Abstract

Equity is central to the effective planning and management of digital health services, particularly as technology adoption rises across Canada and the United States. Immigrant populations, despite representing a significant portion of the population and being considered an underserved group, continue to experience digital health inequities. To support the planning and management of effective digital health services, this protocol outlines a scoping review designed to map the existing research on digital health equity among immigrant populations. A comprehensive understanding of the current literature is imperative to inform digital health management and policies. The five-stage methodological framework outlined by Arksey and O'Malley will be used to guide this scoping review protocol. It is anticipated that the finding will highlight specific barriers to digital health equity among immigrant populations, providing the necessary guidance for future digital health planning and management.
