Abstract
We used a technique that facilitates the custom contouring of porous polyethylene implants. Bone was was molded in the subperiosteal space of the orbit. The wax then served as a model for free-hand sculpting of the rigid implant. Bone wax templates have been used successfully in seven patients with enophthalmos or superior sulcus depression. This technique has increased the precision of custom contouring subperiosteal alloplastic implants.
