Abstract
Unilateral fixators have been used successfully for mechanical axis realignment. Immediate correction of angular deformity is usually preferred with monolateral fixation. This article discusses the principles of immediate versus gradual correction and the range of acceptable malalignment. The principles, technique, and results of complex deformity correction also are discussed.
