Abstract
Rabbits were intracerebroventricularly (i.c.v.) injected by bombesin (6-14) (100 micrograms) or saline (control group) immediately after acute hemorrhage (28 ml/kg body wt.). Bombesin (6-14) normalized the blood pressure and maintained it at the normal level during 30-40 min but it did not alter the dynamics of heart rate and body temperature. It has been proposed that action on the central regulation of vascular tension by intrathecal injection of bombesin or some active analogs might avoid the need for infusion therapy or minimize the infusion volume.
