Abstract
Laparoscopic cholecystectomy has emerged as the treatment of choice for symptomatic cholecystolithiasis. Results will improve and complications rates decrease as surgeons gain experience in the method. New developments will permit a complete laparoscopic approach to cholelithiasis.
