Abstract
A technique for perineal cystoprostatectomy with ureterosigmoidostomy is described as a minimally invasive method to treat muscle invasive bladder cancer. We performed 7 perineal cystoprostatectomies. In the most recent case ureterosigmoidostomy performed via the perineal approach was the definitive method of urinary diversion. The operation was well tolerated and minimally invasive. Perineal cystoprostatectomy and ureterosigmoidostomy are effective and minimally invasive means of definitive therapy for muscle invasive bladder cancer.
